The Malta Institute of Management (MIM)recently held its 2005 Maastricht School of Management Outreach Programme graduation ceremony at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Seventeen students graduated Master of Business Administration in General and Strategic Management and 28 obtained the Diploma in General Management. The degrees and diplomas were conferred by Professor Fred Phillips, Associate Dean of the Maastricht School of Management.
The ceremony marked the culmination of two years' intensive study for all graduates and the beginning of new career opportunities within the emergent profession of management. In his address, MIM president Joe Zammit highlighted the strong relationship that has been built between the Institute and the Maastricht School of Management in the ten years that the Institute has been running the doctorate, Master's and diploma Outreach Programmes of the Maastricht School of Management.
Over the last ten years, three students have graduated Doctor of Business Administration, over 140 Master of Business Administration and over 130 obtained a Diploma in General Management. Dr Silvio Debono, himself a DBA graduate from the Maastricht School of Management, was master of ceremonies.
Karl Farrugia Wismayer, president of the Maastricht School of Management Malta Alumni Association, also delivered an address to mark this occasion and to welcome all graduating students as new members within the Association.
The graduation ceremony was also attended by representatives of MIM's collaborating partners, namely Air Malta, Bank of Valletta and The Malta Business & Financial Times who presented prizes to graduates placing first in various parts of the MBA programme.
A reception for all graduates, faculty staff as well as guests was afterwards held inside the exhibition hall of the Mediterranean Conference Centre. Maastricht School of Management has now become widely known in Malta as well as in over 30 other countries where it operates similar outreach programmes in management.

Bugelli, Matthew Camilleri, Neville Camilleri, Anton Cilia, Adrian Fenech, Birgit-Elizabeth Friedrich, David Gherxi, Noel M. Grech, Mario Hili, Denis A. Micallef, Michael Hans L. Mier, Martin Pitrotta and Valarie Valent James.
Students who graduated with a Diploma in General Management were: Marthese Azzopardi, Maronia Azzopardi, Mark Bondin, Alison Bugeja, Brigitte Angele Busuttil, David Buttigieg, Leon Caruana, Audrey Cassar, Stephen Chetcuti Bonavita, David Darmanin, Joseph Mathew Debono, John Peter Farrugia, Ritienne Fenech, Peter Frendo, Brian Galea, Emanuel Gatt, Maria Kotchneva, Paul Magri, Vivienne Mallia, Elaine Mifsud, Godwin Migneco, William Azzopardi, Maria Pace, Therese Piscopo, Matthew Portelli, Luisa Rizzo, Julian Schicluna and Mark Vella Pace.
