Enhanced features for debit/credit card

Bank of Valletta has introduced enhanced features to its Cashlink Visa card, the bank's international debit card.

The card is now linked to BOV savings and/or current accounts and can be used not only in Malta but also worldwide at any ATM and EPOS displaying the Visa sign.

The card may also be used for purchases made on the internet and is also linked to a local purchase protection insurance.

The BOV Cashlink Visa is a straightforward and efficient means of payment, particularly when one is travelling, the bank said.

It said that, with immediate effect, it is enhancing the daily applicable spending limits on this type of card. These are being increased from Lm200 to Lm300 daily for cash advances and from Lm300 to Lm600 daily for point-of-sale transactions.

BOV also announced that it is reducing the annual fee for this card from Lm7 to Lm5. No government levy is applicable. Cardholders receive a monthly statement on the primary account linked to the card.

Clients applying for a new BOV Cashlink Visa card between June 17 and August 31 will enjoy a reduced card fee of Lm3 instead of Lm5 for the first year. During this period, existing BOV Visa Classic and MasterCard Classic cardholders can take up the BOV Cashlink Visa card for a reduced fee of Lm2 instead of Lm5 for the first year.

In addition, customers whose BOV Cashlink Visa card application form is accepted and approved during the offer period will be given free a travel neck wallet. This offer is available until stocks last.
