About 200 grammes of heroin, which were suspected to have been cut for trafficking, were discovered by the drug squad in Marsa on Thursday afternoon, the police said yesterday.

The police said the drugs were discovered following investigations and the surveillance of a 59-year-old man in Marsa, who was eventually apprehended by squad members.

A search in the vehicle being used by the man in question produced about 200 grammes of heroin and a small amount of cocaine, the police said, adding they found more heroin in a subsequent search at the man's residence in Marsa.
