World Cup winning flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson has been named at inside centre to partner captain Brian O'Driscoll in the British and Irish Lions side for the first test against New Zealand on Saturday.

Wilkinson's move one place out was signalled by coach Clive Woodward last week when the Englishman played most of the second half against Wellington in that position.

Wales flyhalf Stephen Jones will wear the number 10 jersey, resuming his successful Six Nations partnership with compatriot Dwayne Peel, who starts at scrumhalf.

England's Jason Robinson has been surprisingly named at fullback, replacing Josh Lewsey, who moves out to right wing.

Lions: Robinson; Lewsey, O'Driscoll (captain) Wilkinson, Thomas; Jones, Peel; Corry, Back, Hill, Kay, O'Connell, White, Byrne, Jenkins.
