A pharmaceutical company operating from Malta is authorised to manufacture US pharmaceutical products.

Arrow Pharm managing director Paul Harrison explained that the facility will enable the company to continue expanding.

Speaking during a visit to the company's plant by Investments Minister Austin Gatt, Dr Harrison said the pharmaceutical industry in Malta was getting stronger, adding that the US certificate was testimony to the high quality of the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in Malta. At the moment there are about 450 delegates in Malta attending a pharmaceutical conference. Dr Gatt said this presence confirmed that Malta's importance in this sector was increasing.

The minister mentioned the collaboration with academic institutions for Malta to be able to tap new opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
