Daily traffic problems

I thank Philip J. Borg for his article Make Street One Way (June 4).

I fully agree and think it is a must that St Anthony Street has one-way traffic. This will eliminate the daily traffic problems for drivers and pedestrians alike.

One wonders why the Zebbug council did not convert this street to one-way traffic like all the other busy streets in the town. This is something that should have been done a long time ago. As mentioned in the letter, the traffic could easily be directed to Siggiewi Street which leads to a main thoroughfare. On the other side it could be directed to the one-block Mamo Street and into Sindku Vella Road which is wide and leads to all main roads. Mamo Street runs into Main Street too.

Now that we have a new council and an intelligent mayor, one expects that this matter will be resolved in the very near future.
