High level of care

Although letters similar to this often appear in the local papers, there is no reason why I should refrain from repeating what others have claimed and gave praise where praise is truly deserved.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the staff at the caesarean section of the post-natal ward, Karin Grech Hospital, for their commitment and impressive level of care. Here is an extremely competent team of professional people who know how to care and dispense judicious advice to enhance the medical well-being of the patient and at the same time give her comfort at a time when she is physically weak and emotionally vulnerable.

On a different note, my other comment concerns the general environment of the ward. It is a pity that such a group of dedicated people should in any way become demotivated by the lack of hygiene, uncomfortable ambient temperature and lack of facilities.

The patients are vociferous in their complaints about the general conditions, yet they only spend five nights there at the most, while for the staff this is their working environment, even when temperatures soar beyond the bearable.

I hope that efforts are made to improve this situation and facilitate the admirable work being carried out by the team at the post-natal ward.
