Twelve teachers of English as a foreign language have completed a course delivered by staff and associates of Glasgow's Langside College, a Trinity and British Council accredited EFL centre.
The Trinity College course was hosted by EC Malta, which said it furthered the drive for higher standards in TEFL in Malta.
The four-week course involved practical teaching and rigorous, academic theoretical project work, covering the full spectrum of what is essential for good teaching practice.
The course participants were all experienced Maltese and English EFL teachers operating in Malta. The course director was Tony Foster, senior lecturer and Trinity moderator and examiner.
Mr Foster said the reputation of Malta as a fast growing centre for EFL learning was certainly justified given the quality and dedication of the course members.
"This has been a thoroughly enjoyable and highly successful Scottish-Maltese joint venture, as the final grades demonstrate. We look forward to further professional collaboration," Mr Foster said.
EC Malta and Langside will be offering another course in November. EFL teachers may obtain details from Nadya Aquilina at EC Malta, Language House, St Julians.
