Regarding the letter by Ms Justine Camilleri (The Sunday Times, June 5), it is clearly stated in our conditions of contract that "passengers must be present for embarkation at least one hour before departure".
Ms Camilleri arrived at our passenger terminal check-in desk eight minutes prior to the vessel's departure when the immigration police checkpoint was already closed and, in accordance with port regulations, the ship's manifest (passenger list) delivered to the port authorities.
Ms Camilleri availed herself of the company's "buy one get one free" offer which includes a Lm6 administrative charge for any change in dates of travel after the tickets are issued.
Furthermore, the amount that Ms Camilleri claims to have paid for one ticket is for two-day return tickets, inclusive of all taxes and levies. Ms Camilleri is aware of all this because she has confirmed the departure date for her second ticket.
