If you are looking for a pet dog or puppy, pop over to the SPCA in Floriana, or the Dogs' Home, as it is popularly known, where you will even find some cats for adoption!

SPCA secretary Josianne Vella said there were close to 100 dogs and puppies waiting for a home and close to 30 kittens, apart from a number of cats.

"It's the kitten season and kittens keep coming in every day. We have all shades, colours and sizes," she said.

A recent canine addition to the home are two Labrador-like dogs, which though a mixed breed, are very well looked after and neutered.

"They were found in Pembroke and it is strange that no one reported them missing," she said.

Anyone wishing to adopt a pet may call at the SPCA between Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. till noon.

Over 200 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens have been adopted from the SPCA since January.
