The Yellow Pages Challenge ended on a fine note for Krishna CC. With a couple new faces in their team, Mike Micallef and Rick Parker, they won the last game with relative ease. Marsa, however, had long secured the series.

Marsa won the toss and batted first looking to make a big total. It was not to be, however, as their top batsmen played bad-selected shots and went out cheaply - Mike Caruana (13), John Grima (two) and Sam Dhandapani (one).

Alan Kyle then batted well for 30 runs before being caught by Javed Shah at mid-wicket. Colin Willis and Mark Sacco saved the Marsa side from complete embarrassment by producing a 59-run partnership.

Had the Krishna bowlers bowled with more accuracy and not given away 42 wides, the Marsa tally would have been much less than the 187 scored.

Krishna made the required runs in the 29th over. Mike Micallef had 40 runs before retiring and Rick Parker also retired on 42. Robert Krishna was in no mood to stay around and smashed 23 runs off 12 balls and the ever reliable Chris Naudi was 26 not out. Joy Ghoseroy made 21 runs.

The Marsa fielding was not up to scratch compared to Krishna CC. Whereas the latter took all their catches, in particular Mark Sacco who took four, Marsa dropped on two occasions which could have kept them in the game longer. Marsa won the Challenge 4-2.

Summer League
The 20-over Summer League is now next in line with four teams participating - Marsa CC, Krishna CC, Melita Dubliners and Overseas. Melita are the defending champions.
