The state-controlled Founda-tion for the Stade de Geneve announced on Friday that it was preparing to go into liquidation with bankruptcy set to follow. Euro 2008 spokesman Wolfgang Eichler told Reuters that he could not yet comment on any possible impact on the tournament.

Violent sportsmen: British prosecutors on Friday considered whether professional sportsmen, especially soccer players, should face an increased risk of criminal prosecution for violent conduct committed during matches.
