The Citroën C1 has received four stars in EuroNCAP crash tests. "This excellent result follows the similarly high scores achieved by the C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel," Citroën said in astatement.

The C1 scored 26 points overall, on a par with the C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel, which also received four stars with 29, 28 and 31 points, respectively.

Like all vehicles in the Citroën range, the C1, C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel superminis rank among the leaders in their segment in terms of safety. They all provide a high level of protection for vehicle occupants in the event of impact.

The C1 also scored well in the pedestrian protection test, receiving two stars and 14 points, and in the child protection test, with three stars and 36 points.

Citroën's new entry-level model was designed to meet clear objectives: compact dimensions (3,430 mm long), an attractive price, and no compromises on safety.

The C1 is based on a modern platform featuring a host of structural reinforcements that limit structural deformation and dissipate energy in the event of impact.

In terms of equipment, the C1 features front airbags, front seatbelts with pyrotechnic pretensioners and force limiters, and Isofix anchor points. Curtain and side airbags are also available.

All these systems complement the vehicle's impeccable road manners.
