Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, accompanied by Minister Giovanna Debono, visited the new Downtown Complex in Victoria last Wednesday.

The complex's three-star hotel, which began operating last week, is already hosting tourists, and 80 per cent of its beds are currently occupied.

The Prime Minister was greeted by the complex owners Ray Bajada and Joseph Portelli, and was given a tour and description of the hotel and its facilities, which officially opened last September.

Apart from the hotel, the complex also has a shopping centre, various pubs and cafeterias, a recreation centre for children and a bowling alley. The complex will be employing over 90 persons when all the facilities start operating in September.
