The De La Salle Sixth Form soirée, a talent show put up by the students, was a great success this year, not only because of the quality of the cast and the highly varied programme, but also because the main beneficiaries from the proceeds were the homeless young people being cared for by the YMCA.

The show which traditionally consists of dances, songs and drama, suddenly took on a new meaning for the students. Together, they felt that they were working for a noble and worthy cause - helping the YMCA provide a shelter for so many homeless. Over three consecutive evenings, the De La Salle senior students delighted their audiences with delightful choreography, exquisite dances, rich drama and rousing songs. When the shows reached their climax on the final night, the Sixth Form council was proud to present the YMCA with a handsome cheque for Lm1,200.

In this way the Sixth Formers wanted to show both their admiration and appreciation for the valuable initiatives taken by the YMCA for the homeless.
