The volume of retail trade last April fell by 0.9 per cent in the euro-zone and by 0.3 per cent in the EU25 when compared to the same month last year, according to first estimates released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities.

Compared to March, the retail sales index fell by 1.2 per cent in the euro-zone and 0.7 per cent in the EU25.
