A 25-year-old Zabbar man was yesterday jailed for three years after he admitted to breaking into 19 cars this year.

Magistrate Michael Mallia heard Renald Rotin plead guilty to stealing items ranging from hi-fi equipment to mobile phones from the cars and damaging 15 of them between January and May.

He also admitted to breaching the conditions of a previous release.

Police Inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted.
