The Contact Dance Company performed at the Eighth annual European Dance Festival in Cyprus and the International Dance Expo in Greece.
They showcased two works Poetry In Motion and Tempest, both accompanied live by percussionist Renzo Spiteri.
The performances are part of Contact Dance Company's artistic director Francesca Abela Tranter's bid to promote Maltese artistic talent.
The Cyprus festival started as an initiative of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the European Commission Delegation in Cyprus. The purpose was to address the increasing interest in dance and to bring together the representatives of the European countries in Cyprus.
Ever increasing in stature the festival has grown in popularity and strength with each participating country doing its best to present their best contemporary groups.
This year, following EU accession, the festival has been expanded to include many new European member states and included dance groups from Italy, Malta, France, Austria, Sweden, Poland, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Spain and Greece.
