Helisureste refers to the letter by Bill Hopkins (May 23). On April 24 the helicopter developed a technical problem requiring the flights to be suspended for safety reasons. Helisureste policy dictates that safety takes precedence over punctuality and service.

On the other hand, apart from this instance, all scheduled flights with booked passengers were operated by Helisureste. Including this unfortunate event, Helisureste achieved a 98 per cent reliability for its booked and ticketed customers.

Helisureste immediately flew in a team of engineers and parts from Spain to Malta on one of its aircraft to address the fault. Although the relevant EC regulation applies only to motorised fixed wing aircraft, all booked and ticketed passengers were provided with alternative transfers by Helisureste.

This shows the company's commitment and professionalism to its booked and ticketed passengers.

Helisureste apologises for the inconvenience caused to our loyal customers.
