Fault delays plane

An Air Malta plane on its way to Brussels returned to Malta yesterday afternoon after developing a navigational fault, a number of passengers on the flight told The Times.

The aircraft left Malta at 4 p.m. but after about an hour and 15 minutes, the plane turned back to Malta, landing at about 6 p.m. The flight left some time after 7.30 p.m.

An Air Malta flight from Heathrow was recently delayed by about six hours after the plane developed a technical fault on take-off.
