Burger King will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in Malta with a charity event in aid of Caritas Malta at Freedom Square, Valletta, on Saturday from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m.
The event, which is being held in collaboration with the local council, will give the public the chance to try and score against some of Malta's top goalkeepers, donating Lm1 for three shots.
Three goals out of three will earn the participant a free Burger King meal. Valletta mayor Paul Borg Olivier will open the event by kicking the first ball.
Burger King's flagship restaurant in Valletta has recently been newly redecorated into a 1950s American diner. The restaurant will be donating 10 per cent of its total sales on June 4 towards Caritas Malta.
"The highlight of the Charity Penalty Shoot-Out will be the special guest star, No.1 goalkeeper Davide Bertaccini from A.S. Cervia 1920/Campioni il Sogno, an Italian TV reality show, and his trainer Claudio Bozzini," Marco Debono, Burger King marketing executive said.
Goalkeepers that have been roped in for this charity event include Mario Muscat, Saviour Darmanin, Sean Sullivan, Ruben Debono, Ivan Casha, Matthew Camilleri, Daniel Denkaky, Manuel Bartolo, Simon Grech, Sandro Micallef and Jason Cordina.
Other activities include face painting for children, a Stompers Rugby Team truck pull, a dog show, an AFM rescue operation and abseiling by the Civil Protection Department.
