Much has been written and said in the media regarding the lack of lighting in the tunnels at St Julian's, Tal-Qroqq and St Venera, but has anything been done about it? No!

I have personally heard the minister responsible for the lights in these tunnels say that his ministry is looking into it.

What is his ministry waiting for? A fatal accident, perhaps? Then and only then will someone get things done.

Another thing that's happening because of the lack of lighting in these tunnels, is that some sneaky wardens stand at the end of the tunnels waiting to hand out tickets to any unfortunate driver who happens to forget to switch on his lights o entering these tunnels. If we had decent lighting in these tunnels, one would not need to use one's lights. That's how it should be.

But sometimes I tend to forget that I live in Malta and that in most cases nothing is done until something tragic happens first.
