St Martin's Institute of Information Technology and its sister company ExecuTrain have appointed Brian Decelis as its marketing and sales manager.
St Martin's and ExecuTrain operate from a fully-accredited and licensed training centre at Hamrun and are the primary providers of information systems, computing and business education and training in Malta.
Mr Decelis brings with him the experience as chief executive officer of the Institute of Financial Services, also known as the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
During his tenure at IFS, he was responsible for implementing a three-year strategic plan including the introduction and promotion of new qualifications to the institute's portfolio. Mr Decelis has been working in the financial services sector for the past 18 years, having joined what was then known as Mid-Med Bank (now HSBC) in 1987.
St Martin's Institute, a teaching institution of the University of London, offers the opportunity to Maltese and international students to read a wide array of diplomas and degrees in business, computing, information systems, management, economics and English.
ExecuTrain plays an important role in training computer professionals to manage sophisticated IT systems in the corporate world as well as knowledge workers use in a variety of desktop applications.
Mr Decelis will be in charge of the marketing and sales strategies of both companies, both for the national and international markets.
