The German sail training ship Gorch Fock will be in Grand Harbour between Saturday and Wednesday.

The ship will be open to the public on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Tuesday, also from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Gorch Fock is the German navy 's training ship and was last in Valletta 10 years ago. It is in fact a barque, a sailing vessel with three masts and has a total crew complement of 77 members and up to 139 trainees maximum.

To date, well over 12,000 officers and NCO candidates have received basic seamanship and specialist training aboard the ship, including some AFM officers.
