Two Bulgarian women were yesterday given a one-year suspended jail term and an 11-year-old girl of the same nationality was put on probation for three years when the three admitted to trying to rob a woman.

Chokoeva Totka Nikolova 35, Dasheya Yordanka Nikolaeva 30, and the 11-year-old pleaded guilty to trying to steal over Lm100 worth of items from Mary Carmela Hili at The Plaza Shopping Complex, in Sliema on Monday.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi presided over the case.

Police Inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted.

Dr Mark Busuttil appeared for the three accused.
