The inflation rate in April stood at 2.83 per cent, the same as in the previous month, the National Statistics Office said.

The highest inflation rate for April in the last five years was 3.65 per cent in 2002. The inflation rate in April 2004 stood at 1.86 per cent. The NSO said the retail price index last month went up by 0.43 per cent to 106.27, from 105.82 in the previous month.
