Opposition questions budget

The Labour Party's foreign affairs spokesman, Leo Brincat, has challenged the government to give a public account of the preparations for the forthcoming CHOGM.

He asked what sum of money had already been committed for this event and if this was over the amount voted in the budget.

As the government was committed to this summit, it should give a public assurance it would try and get the best possible benefits for tourism and industry in the most cost effective way, Mr Brincat said.
