Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said in reply to a parliamentary question by Adrian Vassallo (MLP) that three thefts were reported from buildings used by the police last year. The stolen items were a cellular phone, vehicle accessories, and a firearm.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said in reply to another question that no thefts were reported from army barracks in 2000, 2002 and 2003. In 2001 reported thefts consisted of Lm24 in cash, a jack hammer and a helmet used during riot control. Military clothing and two truck batteries were reported stolen last year.
