Obituary
BULT. On May 14, at St Luke's Hospital, KENNETH JAMES (known as Ed) of UK, residing at Mellieha, aged 60. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Annette Vella, his children Daniel and Alexandra, his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Alfred, his in-laws Claire and her husband Lawrence Bonavia, Ingrid and her husband Douglas Falzon, Joseph and his wife Eleanor, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends who showed great support during his illness.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today, at 2.30 p.m. for Mellieha's parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Mellieha Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated.
Lord grant him eternal rest.
CORTIS. Catherine née Cachia, aged 47, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Raymond, her children Jeremy, Gabriel and Samuel, her father Emmanuel, her father and mother-in-law Joseph and Mary Cortis, her sister Mary and her brothers Joseph, Anthony, Carmelo, Manwel, Julien, Patrick, Paul and their wives, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

IT For Professionals
The Information Technology Studies Board at the University of Malta is offering a Masters in Information Technology course starting in October.
This part-time, three-year course will be "cross disciplinary", offering a wide selection of study-units from various areas of information technology aimed to boost the careers of professionals. It is aimed at those who have not studied IT as such but need to apply it in their field of work, study and research.
The course is suitable for physicists, biologists, chemists, architects, lawyers, medical doctors, psychologists, teachers and linguists, among others.
Applicants have to be university graduates possessing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Courses In Italian
The Società Dante Alighieri will hold a number of summer courses in Italian for the fourth year running, aimed at various levels of tuition for students and adults.
Classes will be held for beginners, Form 1 level, through to the advanced level including conversation meetings for those wishing to practice and improve the language. Conversation classes will be available mornings and evenings according to the number of registered participants. Courses will also be held in Gozo following the success registered last summer.

Lottery
Hellmanns used the local Food and Drink Fair and Festival 2005 to launch their spring/summer lottery, entitled One Hellmann's Of A Lottery, which offers 104 prizes.
The closing date for entries is July 18 and the draw date is July 20.
Art Appreciation
The University of Malta Gozo Centre will be holding a short course on art appreciation spread over five weekends from May 27 to June 25.
The course is intended for those who wish to deepen their understanding of works of art, their value as a means of self-expression and communication as well as their role in society.
Lectures will be given by Joe Friggieri, head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Malta and chairman of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts.
There will be two sessions every weekend on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The course fee is Lm25.

Song festival
T.A. Productions will be holding a song festival to mark the 45th anniversary of the setting up of the Mosta Drama Club, of which it is a branch.
The festival will have four categories with different age groups and will be held in the open air at Ta' Fra Ben Restaurant, in Qawra on June 10.
Applications close at noon on May 29.

Red Tower exhibition
The Art Club 2000 will hold an art and craft exhibition at the Red Tower, limits of Ghadira, from next Saturday to May 29.
The aim of the club is to promote art and craft through various exhibitions.
The exhibition, which will include paintings and traditional crafts, will be open to the public between 9.30 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Charity Lunch
A social activity will be held at the Imperial Hotel in Sliema, in aid of the poor in Lima, Peru.
The money raised will go towards the Lima Missionary Housing Project, which consists of the maintenance and the building of two dwellings in the Peruvian capital by lay missionary Hector Pickard.
The activity will take place on May 22 at 12.15 p.m. After lunch, a lottery will be organised. For bookings call on 2134 3183.
Radio Competition
Charlotte Micallef Smith, a 22-year-old bank clerk, has won the Cream Classics competition run by 89.7 Bay in recent weeks.
Charlotte and her boyfriend Anthony will join 50,000 clubbers at one of the planet's biggest parties, Creamfields, in Merseyside, UK, in August.
Ms Micallef Smith's prize includes flights, accommodation and tickets for two.
Discussion On Family
The Cana Movement's Rabat branch will hold a discussion - Problems Facing The Family, preceded by Holy Mass, at the Rabat Cana Centre, Emanuele Vitale Street on May 21 at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Let Me Learn
Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology staff members Jacqueline Micallef Grimaud and David Bonello attended training sessions in the framework of the Let Me Learn - Accelerated Certification Programme in Rome.
Representatives of eight countries attended. The sessions were hosted by the University of Malta's Link Campus and made possible by a Grundtvig grant.
The Let Me Learn Centre of the University of Malta is dedicated to promoting the individual's potential.
