The Labour Youth Forum said it is in favour of the European constitutional treaty.

Forum president Clyde Caruana said the forum believed Malta should remain out of military allegiances and the EU Constitution made this possible.

"The treaty guarantees the EU will not be a super state overriding the identity of member states," Mr Caruana said.

The Labour parliamentary group has said it would vote in favour of the European Constitution. The official seal to the party's stand will be taken at a general conference.
