The Employment and Training Corporation has recently expanded its ECDL computer skills certification programmes to meet the market demand and is now offering four more advanced ECDL modules.
The Corporation is offering advanced modules in AM3 Advanced Word Processing, AM4 Advanced Spreadsheets, AM5 Advanced Databases and AM6 Advanced Presentations.
The ECDL advanced modules qualification is designed to progress the computer skills benchmark from the internationally successful European Computer Driving Licence to the next level of competence. The syllabus for the advanced suite of modules is over and above the skills sets and core knowledge contained within the respective core ECDL syllabus modules.
The extensive use of computers in many business functions has brought into existence a variety of roles that rely on the extensive knowledge of particular computing tools. An employee holding an ECDL advanced certificate can prove that he has the competence to effectively and efficiently use these tools to benefit the organisation.
"This certification will prove that an individual's competence with computer use is well above the basic skill level and will help determine suitability for jobs involving computer use at a higher level", an ETC spokesman said.
The advanced level anticipates that candidates have already mastered the skill sets and acquired the specific knowledge outlined in the core ECDL syllabus thus the candidates who intend to participate need to have passes in the Core ECDL (M3 or M4 or M5 or M6) to take the correspondence advanced module.
