An Msida woman of Moroccan origin was yesterday charged with importing 1.5 kilogrammes of heroin from Tunis on Thursday.

Fatiha Khallouf, 32, pleaded not guilty to conspiring to deal in heroin, importing the drug and its possession in circumstances denoting it was not for her personal use. Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima rejected Ms Khallouf's request for bail at this stage.

Police Inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Dr Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for the accused.
