An Air France airliner bound from Paris to Boston landed safely in Bangor, Maine, after being diverted at the United States' request because the name of a passenger matched a name on the no-fly list, officials said yesterday.
Air France Flight 332 was diverted after US authorities found a "possible match" in the passenger manifest, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration said.
Rebecca Hupp, director of the Bangor airport, said the Airbus A330 carrying 169 passengers landed shortly after 2.30 p.m. (1830 GMT) and would be boarded by US Customs and Border Protection agents.
