Football learning should not be confined to the training pitch, especially when one is dealing with young people.
Character formation and health are also vital areas in the development of young footballers.
In keeping with its promise of encouraging its participants to appreciate the importance of various aspects of sport and life in general, the Zazu Football School, spearheaded by former Malta U-21 and Pietà Hotspurs coach Ray Farrugia, last month organised a seminar at The Westin Dragonara Resort.
Sports medicine, sports psychology and dental hygiene were the main topics discussed during the seminar that was attended by over 200 people comprising Zazu Football School participants and their parents, a statement from the school said.
Speeches were delivered by MFA doctor Dr Aaron Formosa, Adele Muscat, a sports psychologist, and dental hygienist Eugene Buttigieg.
Afterwards, those who took part in the seminar enjoyed a meal at The Westin, one of the main sponsors of this initiative alongside PJ Sutters, Konica Minolta, Teamsport, Chez Gaetane and Cafè Ranieri.
