Boat people brought ashore

A group of 19 illegal immigrants were brought to Hay Wharf by the Armed Forces of Malta yesterday morning.

The police said seven of the immigrants claimed to be Egyptians and another seven claimed to be Palestinians, four said they were Indians and one said he was an Iraqi.

Two of the immigrants are under 16.
