German football will consider staggering kick-off times across the weekend and becoming less "fan friendly" to clinch a better TV rights deal, according to the Bundesliga's new business manager.
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently called for the Bundesliga to seek a total of €500 million, up from e300 million, when negotiations for a new TV rights deal begin later this year.
Christian Seifert, the Bundesliga's commercial chief, said in an interview with Sport Bild that it was too early to settle on numbers but he backed the Bayern chief's view that greater revenue was needed to keep the league competitive in Europe.
"We're in a situation, and I say it quite clearly, in which nothing is ruled out, whether salami (split up) match schedules, changes to times or a change in the relationship between pay TV and free TV," Seifert said.
