A Chinese man was yesterday charged with defrauding a language school and several people of about €3,000 earlier this year.

Magistrate Dennis Montebello heard Song Zehao, 23, plead not guilty of defrauding Link School of English and several people, of misappropriating money and of making a false declaration on and before February.

He was granted bail against a deposit of Lm500 and a personal guarantee to the same amount.

Police Inspectors Helga Debono and Carmel Abdilla prosecuted.

Dr Joseph Giglio and Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
