Bastions clean-up gathers momentum

The Resources and Infrastructure Ministry and the Armed Forces of Malta have started cleaning the side of St Michael's Bastions - the highest bastion overlooking Grand Harbour.

By the end of June, all the bastions overlooking the Grand Harbour should be cleaned, Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit said yesterday. Mr Zammit, together with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, yesterday visited the clean-up operation. In July, restoration work should start on St Barbara's Curtain and St Christopher's Bastion, close to Lower Barrakka.
