Friday will be one of the busiest days at Valletta Waterfront throughout this year with some 7,000 cruise liner passengers expected to sail in to the Grand Harbour on this day every week, Valletta Waterfront business manager Dirk Spiteri Lucas said.
Last Friday 6,584 passengers arrived on board the tourist liners Costa Magica, Costa Atlantica, Aida Aura, Flamenco and Sapphire.
The Valletta Waterfront is in the final stages of the development of Pinto Wharf, with the landscaping of the seafront and the new laguna expected to be completed within the next month.
The restored Pinto Stores, which will now house a selection of bars, restaurants and other retail outlets, will then open to the public in the following weeks.
In a few short weeks, the redevelopment of the Pinto Stores will be completed and thousands of cruise passengers, as well as the Maltese public, can begin to fully enjoy one of Malta's rediscovered jewels, Mr Spiteri Lucas said.
