Britain handed Federer test in Davis Cup

Roger Federer is expected to return to Davis Cup action for Switzerland after his country was drawn to play Britain in a World Group play-off in September.

The world number one missed Switzerland's defeat by the Netherlands in March but is likely to feature in the home tie against a British side that will have to make do without leading player Tim Henman, who has retired from Davis Cup duty.

Yesterday's draw also paired the United States away to Belgium while Sweden visit India to retain their top-flight status.

Germany are away to the Czech Republic while Italy host Spain.

The play-off ties will take place over September 23-25 with the winners assured of a place in the elite 16-nation World Group.
