The Dance Workshop has just been awarded the prestigious title of Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing Approved Dance Centre.
This title makes The Dance Workshop the only dance school on the island where senior dance students can prepare for their teaching examinations of ISTD at Foundation of Dance Instruction and Certificate in Dance Education level.
This status is not only recognised by the ISTD but is recorded by the UK's Department of Education.
The Dance Workshop principal Theresa Lungaro-Mifsud said this was a clear example that the appointed tutors as well as the studio facilities were up to international standards.
Foreign inspectors were sent over to ensure that all the standards are maintained - especially since the new qualifications are recognised by the British government at the university level of the National Education Framework.
"This prestigious appointment has truly sealed our pledge to provide dancers and future dance teachers with the best dance education possible. To date we have shown that we produce dancers and teachers of high standards and this new status will help us further develop our teaching of technique through further understanding of the world of dance," she said.
