Over 900 accidents at work in three months

The administrative records of the Department of Social Security indicate that 915 persons were involved in an accident at work in the first three months of this year, the National Statistics Office said.

The number of accidents in the first quarter was at the same level of last year.

Between January and March this year three men lost their life in industrial accidents.

Many of the accidents at work took place in the manufacturing (38.5 per cent), construction (16.6 per cent) and transport, storage and communications (7.5 per cent) sectors.
