European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko believes Milan are capable of becoming just the third Italian team to win a Serie A and Champions League double.
Shevchenko was on target in Milan's 2-0 Champions League, semi-final, first leg win over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday that gives them a great chance of reaching the May 25 final in Istanbul.
"None of us have any intention of giving up anything to anyone," said Shevchenko when asked whether the team were more focused on Europe or the Serie A title.
"After Tuesday's win we have real hope of getting to the final but that doesn't mean there is any desire to hand the title over to Juventus," said the Ukrainian.
Tomorrow Milan, who are level on points with Juve at the top of Serie A, face Fiorentina and Shevchenko said it was hard for Milan to keep fighting on two fronts, twice a week.
"It is stressful. In this period every game is decisive and we cannot make an error. That inevitably makes it tough for us mentally.
"In that sense, having to fight away in Serie A and the Champions League does put us at a disadvantage with our rivals," he said.
"It is not easy playing every three days but when you know that you can win on every front, that gives you the motivation to rise above every opponent," added the forward.
Defending Italian champions Milan face Juventus, their only challengers to the 'scudetto', on May 8 at the San Siro but Shevchenko said there was no time yet to dwell on that fixture.
"First we have to focus on the trip to Fiorentina - that will be a very tricky game. It is just as important that we get results out of that game and the games after the Juve match," he said.
The last team to win the domestic and European double was the Milan side coached by current Juventus boss Fabio Capello in 1994. Milan's city rivals Inter are the only other team to have pulled off the feat, in 1965.
Milan will have their central defender Alessandro Nesta back for the second leg in Eindhoven next Wednesday as he returns from suspension.
British bookmaker William Hill's betting odds to win the Champions League before the second legs of the semi-finals: 4-5 Milan; 7-4 Chelsea; 5-1 Liverpool; 25-1 PSV Eindhoven.
