New head at fund management firm

HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Limited has a new managing director, Charles Azzopardi (above), who takes over from Joseph Camilleri who has retired.

HSBC Bank Malta's chief executive officer, Shaun Wallis, said Mr Azzopardi's experience will greatly assist HSBC Fund Management in the provision of investment products and services.

Funds under management have reached Lm213 million since 1996, spread across more than 33,000 investor accounts. The company manages 15 proprietary investment funds including bond, equity and balanced funds that invest both in Malta and abroad.

Mr Azzopardi started his career with Mid-Med Bank Ltd in 1976, occupying various managerial roles.
