¤ World champions Ferrari will supply Formula One newcomers Red Bull Racing with engines for 2006 and 2007. Red Bull, owned by Austrian energy drink billionaire Dietrich Mate-schitz, are using Cosworth engines this year after buying the Jaguar team from Ford last November. The Swiss-based Sauber team currently use Ferrari engines under the Petronas name of their major Malaysian oil company sponsor.
¤ Fernando Alonso and team boss Flavio Briatore will stay at Renault next year after the manufacturer moved to end speculation about their future yesterday. Briatore, whose contract was due to expire this year, said that all of Renault's key staff would be kept together to provide stability for their championship bid. Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella, winner of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, will also stay with the Anglo-French team.
¤ Nico Rosberg, teenage son of Finland's 1982 world champion Keke, has moved a step closer to Formula One after signing with Williams as their second official test driver. The team said that the 19-year-old German would start his duties at Silverstone next Tuesday.
