A man and a woman were yesterday charged with threatening to injure a woman if she did not marry a foreign man.

Maria Camilleri, 33, of Marsascala and Keith Pace, 24, of Marsa pleaded not guilty to threatening Cettina Kok by telling her they would seriously injure her if she did not marry Albdalla El Ahmad.

They were also charged with threatening Ms Kok for financial gains and Mr Pace alone was charged with relapsing.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti presided over the case.

Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted. Dr David Farrugia Sacco appeared for Ms Camilleri and Dr Franco Debono appeared for Mr Pace.
