Forty-one schools from Malta have registered to participate in eTwinning, an initiative supported by the European Commission which aims to promote, support and facilitate partnerships between schools from across Europe.

In line with the Lisbon objectives, the initiative helps schools collaborate through the use of information and communication technology.

Seventeen of the schools are already actively engaged in collaborative projects with schools from across Europe.

eTwinning is the main action within the European Commission's eLearning Programme.

A strong point in favour of eTwinning is that all the forms and administrative work is taken care of online so that teachers can concentrate on teaching.

A partnership through eTwinning means a working relationship between individuals or groups from schools in different countries.
