\nLa Salle switched from hot to cold during this men's league fixture against Depiro but still chalked up three useful points in their bid to retain the title.
The champions showed great skill and cohesion in the opening half but lost composure after the break.
La Salle were quick in their passing and their lethal shots caused problems to Depiro's rearguard.
Depiro tried hard to keep the pace but La Salle opened a 12-4 lead after 20 minutes and held a nine-goal advantage before half-time (15-6).
La Salle, however, were a different lot after the break and their performance left much to be desired.
Depiro profited from La Salle's slump to launch their comeback bid only to be stopped in their stride when Joseph Tanti received his marching orders after losing his temper over a dubious decision by the referee.
Depiro kept on trying but La Salle weathered the storm and held on to their win.
Dimitar Milev scored eight goals for La Salle while Tanti and Dennis Zammit netted four times each for Depiro who remain anchored in bottom place.

Aloysians survived Kavallieri's final assault in a breathtaking match, a really good advert for the sport.
Aloysians took a 2-0 lead after two minutes but Kavallieri hit back boldly to score four times. They maintained their supremacy and by half-time, Aloysians were trailing by three goals, 12-9.
In the second half, Aloysians played much better. There was an evident improvement in their teamwork as the players did their best to avoid their erratic performance in the first half.
After just five minutes, they were leading by two goals and seemed well in control.
However, Kavallieri fought gallantly till the very end. With just 25 seconds left, they reduced the gap to just one goal.
Aloysians lost possession and Christopher Galea came desperately close to an equaliser but his shot from the distance hit the post and bounced away from the goal.
Aloysians were let off the hook. They will now play the championship duel with La Salle on April 30.
