¤ The Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) has sacked coach John Kirwan, it was announced on their website. The former All Blacks winger, who was brought in to add attacking flair to Italy's traditionally forward-dominated game, paid the price for a disappointing Six Nations campaign. Italy picked up their first wooden spoon since he took over from Brad Johnstone in 2002. The FIR intends to name Kirwan's replacement within 10 days.
