Mr Alan Deidun (The Sunday Times, March 20, April 3) is free to comment selectively on projects sited in ODZ areas and ignore others which also occupy otherwise pristine land if that is what he wants.

He is also free to criticise decisions by the DCC boards and express shock-horror at what he perceives as conflict of interest and other unethical conduct by board members while in the same breath referring to my mentioning of the code of ethics as 'obsolete statements'.

What he is not at liberty to do is to resort to innuendo and unsubstantiated statements which only serve to put the whole of the profession in a bad light.

Since he acknowledged his error in his reply to my first letter (which was written precisely for this purpose) the matter is now closed.
